Reveilo is a spell you get early in-game--think of it like magic Detective Vision--and it'll quickly become your best friend. What makes this spell stand out from the others is that it'll reveal everything that's nearby you. Lootable items will be gold, enemies will be red, and puzzle items will appear blue. Even collectibles may briefly reveal themselves visually, but the chime you may hear when pinging your immediate area is location-based, so follow the noise to often find hidden items like Guide Pages, gear, or puzzles to solve.
Watch your step
Yes, even though you are a wizard who can make something appear out of nothing, that doesn't mean a large cliff can't hurt you. Although the game does a good job of setting up invisible walls in specific areas to avoid this, some areas still allow you to fall from a great distance. If you're going to take a shortcut, make sure you have the potions to heal yourself.
