No Time To Die Tops US Box Office Chart

Eighteen months after its initial release date--and a week after it hit some international territories--the Bond movie No Time To Die finally arrived US theaters. The movie has made $56 million in its first three days.

This is a good result for any movie in the pandemic era, but it did fall short of estimations for the film. As Box Office Mojo reports, No Time To Die was predicted to open with $60-$70 million, with the previous movie, 2015's Spectre, making $70.4 million. Nevertheless, the movie is performing extremely well outside the US, with a $313.2 million gross to date. In addition, the film is yet to open in China, where the Bond series has traditionally performed extremely well.

Sony's Venom: Let There Be Carnage drops to No. 2, taking $32 million in its second weekend. The film opened with a hugely impressive $90.1 million last weekend and has so far taken $185.6 million worldwide. The Venom sequel is yet to open in some countries too, including the UK, where Bond continues to dominate the box office.
